Black Asymmetric Top

Of course... before I start a late HAPPY NEW YEAR!

First post of 2012, many more to come :).

Meet my black asymmetric top. The materail has a slight stretch. It took just two parts to make it, front and back. On the left side I did not cut out a sleeve, just a huge triangle starting from somewhere between the hip and waistline. After sewing the parts together I put the top on the doll (don't know how to translate 'paspop' into english haha!) and I started modeling it by cropping up the left part to create a sleeve. Because it was a little bit too long the right side is also cropped up to make it really asymmetric :). I already received lots of positive reactions from friends, love it. It is a great party outfit, simple but chic :). And even better, no copy-cats ;)...

Same old me, new style!

Inspired by the inspiration placed on facebook by a friend of mine I started drawing again. But I wanted to try something new... after I finished the drawing part I cut out the girl, replaced the background with aluminium foil, used wrapping paper for the goblet, and normal black coloured paper... I have no clue where the original photo comes from, but thank you ;), love it!! And my version... is decorating my room :).

Have a home made christmas :)

All you need: christmas ribbons, a candle, cinnamon sticks, fake cherries/berries, mushrooms and red peppers or anything else! Put it all together on a nice garland (a real one, please!!), use iron strings to secure the decorations.. and voila! Ho Ho Ho... Merry Christmas!

Wreck a Bag!

I like canvas bags, I do. But I never use them, because most of them are boring... Last week I bought a new jacket and it came with a black canvas bag. Black! Always better than white :). However, as you can see, there was a logo on it. A big screeming-blue logo. Not so nice. So I gathered leftovers and plastified a Vivienne Westwood picture and started to wreck the Kelly-bag ;)! Due to a lack of wreck-time, it's not totally wrecked jet... hope to finish next week :). But I just wanted to share this new look of the first canvas bag I actually intent to use ;)!

Earring earring on the wall...

It has to be somewhere.. I got one here, but where is the other one? Lost an earring (again!)? Such a pity! This is a dilemma I can't have any more since my earrings are neatly organized on an earring board. However, it looks like chaos ;)... Mine is already old but I made some new ones for friends :). However, I think that there are more bell-addicts in this world tired of losing their beloved ones so I made some extra boards. Pictures of those available will follow soon. This is one I made for friends. The size is 30x40 cm. The inside is white striped fabric with two tones of silver/grey lining. There is space for different sizes of earrings. The maximum number of pairs is ca. 65.

The price range is €30-€40.

Discovering Haarlem!

Last week I went shopping in Haarlem for the first time. My mission: work clothes! Of course it is very easy to visit H&M, Vero Moda, Only, Vila, etc. But there is no point in going to an undiscovered shop city if that is what you want... same collection everywhere! Boooring! Haarlem is a perfect city for such mission :D! Lovely boutiques in the streets surrounding the main shopping street. So... if you are planning a shopping trip to Haarlem, please do not forget these lovely findings :)...

AMANZIO

Located at the Kruisstraat 40, you will find a modern shop Amanzio. Quality clothes from designers from different countries for reasonable prices. I bought this cute blazer from Attentif, a French label. Next to clothes they sell shoes (high-higher-highest heels!), bags (birkin style) and other accessories. IT

Located at the Barteljorisstraat (north end), is a luxuary boutique named IT. They also have a shop at the Gedempte Oude Gracht 91. Not cheap, but oh so nice! They sell labels like Ted Baker, Supertrash, mbyM and jet more to come! I bought this high waisted skirt from mbyM with an all-the-way-down zip at the back :). The best kept secret/ Jutka&Riska Located at Gierstraat 45 you will find the English style shop The Best Kept Secret. Run by an English mother and daughter. They have unique items! Really really really a must go!! They travel back to England every other week to come back with 500 new items. Most of them are posted on their facebook wall. I bought this dress and blue pants. Another lovely boutique is situated at Kruisstraat 15, Jutka&Riska. They sell vintage items, own design, new collections, items by young designers and customized items.
